About Our Fresno DUI Attorney Jeffrey T. Hammerschmidt
Jeffrey T. Hammerschmidt has been a licensed attorney for the past 23 years and has practiced in criminal law for 18 years. For more than 12 years Mr. Hammerschmidt worked as a Deputy District Attorney for the County of Fresno, where he served as President of the Fresno County Prosecutors Association. He also served as senior legal advisor to the Fresno Police Department, an agency of more than 800 officers, where he advised the Chief of Police’s executive staff on various legal issues.
Mr. Hammerschmidt is certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization as a Criminal Law Specialist. He obtained this distinction in 1998. Less than 400 lawyers statewide are certified as Criminal Law Specialists.

About Our Fresno DUI Attorney Mark A. Broughton
Mark A. Broughton is a Fresno County criminal defense attorney who has represented men, women, and juveniles in state and federal court. He practiced law in San Diego for 17 years before moving to Fresno where he continues to practice criminal law in the San Joaquin Valley.
Mr. Broughton has been licensed to practice law for the past 33 years during which time he has practiced criminal law. He was the chief defense attorney for a 17-attorney criminal defense law firm where he worked exclusively in criminal matters for nearly 15 years.
Mr. Broughton has conducted over 200 jury trials in every type of case from DUIs; possession, sales and transportation of drugs, sexual assault and child molestation cases, domestic violence cases, assaults with deadly weapons and battery, “three strikes” cases, drive-by shootings, robberies and burglaries, criminal street gang cases, and attempted murder cases.

About Our Fresno DUI Associate Laura Bragg
Laura M. Bragg graduated from the San Joaquin College of Law Paralegal Program in 2006 as Valedictorian of her class. Afterwards she began working as a paralegal at McCormick, Barstow, Sheppard, Wayte & Carruth, the largest private civil firm in Fresno. After deciding to attend law school, Laura began working as a law clerk for the Law Office of Jeffrey T. Hammerschmidt, now Hammerschmidt Broughton Law Corporation, and upon passing the Bar and being sworn in on December 1, 2010, became an associate attorney with the firm.
Prior to becoming a paralegal, Laura graduated from California State University, Fresno, with a B.S. in Mass Communications and Journalism and a minor in Business Administration.
Along with being a member of the State Bar of California and United States District Court, Eastern District of California, Laura is also a member of the Fresno County Bar Association, Fresno County Women Lawyers, La Raza Lawyers Association, and Fresno County Young Lawyers.
Among Laura’s most distinguished endeavors is her volunteer work as a Domestic Violence Court Advocate with the local domestic violence agency, Marjoree Mason Center. As a volunteer she taught a weekly legal options class to teach domestic violence victims about their legal rights and different restraining order options, and also provided advocacy services in court helping domestic violence victims apply for and obtain restraining orders.
